Jayna Huffines

About

Jayna Huffines has been a visual art teacher since 2000 and a certified yoga instructor since 2016. She teaches high school visual art, including AP Art History, Painting, and Drawing. Over the past 22 years, Jayna has taught public middle school and high school and various private art lessons, and she takes commissions for paintings and drawings. She has taught Ashtanga-based yoga classes since 2016 and co-hosted a yoga retreat in the NC mountains in 2019. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Art Education for grades K-12 and National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Certification in Visual Art for Early Adolescence through Young Adulthood. She easily connects with students of all ages by integrating humor and empathy into her lessons. Jayna loves to paint, draw, and enjoy nature in all of its forms.

Samantha Lazar

About

Samantha Lazar has taught students of all ages since 1998; she currently teaches 5th grade. She holds a Bachelor of Science in English and Secondary Education and a Master’s in Education, with certification in K-12 Academically and Intellectually gifted education. Samantha has an intuitive, creative, and collaborative style of teaching. She loves reading, writing, and coaching writers to develop their love of language. She also loves reading Tarot and creating art. She also loves spending time with her family, gardening, drawing, yoga, traveling, and being in nature.

She is the author of two collections: Reaching Marrakesh and Don’t Tell Your Grandma
